Indian Ocean and its islands are among the most visited tourist spots. There is no way you can cover all the main islands in a single trip. If you want to, you will have to take a long holiday and a great amount of money.

There are cruises available for the Indian Ocean, but they do not stop for one or two days at the major ports so you don’t get to enjoy as much as you want. But still, you can get a glimpse of the diversity that these islands combined with the southern ports of India and Pakistan offer.

The most recommended method is to identify the major places to visit in the Ocean and reserve one holiday for one or two places only. This way you can cover all the islands and enjoy as much as you want. But you will have to spend two or three holidays for most. The most famous places if you start from the US are Mauritius, Sri Lanka, Indian ports including Cochin and Chennai, and Maldives.
